LINKIN PARK Singer Says Nagging Injuries Won't Keep Him Down
January 19, 2011LINKIN PARK kicks off its first North American tour in nearly three years on Thursday (January 20) in Sunrise, Florida, as the band gets on the road behind its latest album, "A Thousand Suns". Singer Chester Bennington told The Pulse Of Radio he hasn't been able to do his usual pre-tour workouts because of some nagging injuries that he describes as "stupid." "I tore a ligament in my left hand last year, playing basketball at Chuck E. Cheese, which is like a pizza place for kids," he said. "I injured my back a few years ago, that's been acting up. The last show in Australia, I bent over to pack my bags and I tore a little bit of my back again. But that's not gonna prevent me from going out and shredding on this tour. I'm gonna go out and it's gonna be like nothing happened."
PENDULUM and DOES IT OFFEND YOU, YEAH? will open for LINKIN PARK through February 11, with THE PRODIGY taking over for the remainder of the tour.
As usual on recent LINKIN PARK tours, one dollar from each ticket will go to Music For Relief, a charity founded by LINKIN PARK to provide relief to victims of natural disasters.
